Taiwanese Mandarin Edition of Current Research on the Sino-Japanese War Published by Rye Field Publishing

The book Current Research on the Sino-Japanese War—The History and Its Controversies, edited by Shin Kawashima, professor at the University of Tokyo, and Nobu Iwatani, professor at Hokkaido University (University of Tokyo Press, 2022), which represents the research results of Phase 2 of the Center for Territory and History project, has been published in a Taiwanese Mandarin translation under the title重探中日戰爭 (Re-examining the Sino-Japanese War), edited by Shin Kawashima and Nobu Iwatani and published by Rye Field Publishing.

This volume compiles the latest research results by members of the Study Group on the East Asian History at the Center for Territory and History. It reconstructs a new understanding of the history of the Sino-Japanese War by drawing on analyses of Japan’s domestic politics and society, Chinese historical materials such as Chiang Kai-shek’s diaries, and examinations of the international situation centered on Europe and the United States.
