The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held JIIA Forum where Glen S. Fukushima (Former Deputy Assistant United States Trade Representative (USTR) for Japan and China/ Former President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan), and Kenneth R. Weinstein (President Emeritus, Japan Chair, Hudson Institute/ Senior Advisor, Brunswick Group), joined JIIA President Kenichiro Sasae to analyze and consider the US presidential elections and its likely consequences. The group assessed the moves being made by the various political camps in the run-up to the presidential elections as well as discussions on post-election prospects, alongside the incoming administration's foreign policy stances and the future of Japan-US cooperation and the Indo-Pacific region under the leadership of the president-elect.

The forum featured lively discussion lasting approximately an hour and a half, with many questions from participants both in person and online.
