The Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held a roundtable discussion with Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM) in Türkiye, on December 20, 2022 (online meeting).

The roundtable discussion was attended by: Ms. Tomiko ICHIKAWA, Director General, JIIA, Mr. Kensuke YANAGIDA, Research Fellow, JIIA, Dr. Li HAO, Research Fellow, JIIA/Lecturer, Kobe University, and Dr. Masaki KAKIZAKI, Associate Professor, Temple University, from Japan; and Prof. Ahmet UYSAL, Director, ORSAM, Dr. Abdenoor Toumi; North African Studies Expert, Mr. Kaan Devecioğlu, North African Studies Expert, ORSAM, and Gökhan Ereli, Gulf Studies Coordinator, ORSAM. Following the presentations from both sides, lively discussions took place including other participants regarding various aspects of impact of the war in Ukraine on both countries and their respective regions.
