The Japan Institute of International Affairs held the virtual Japanese-German Track 1.5 Security Dialogue on 22 June 2021 in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS).

Japanese and German experts and government officials actively exchanged their views on various security issues in the international community, including the current security situation in East Asia and Europe, as well as possible German, European and Japanese contributions to the future of the regional international order in the Indo-Pacific Region.
